Milling with a chainsaw is a great option where access is tricky - the 'Logosol' chainsaw mill can be set up almost anywhere. It's extremely simple but can produce good quality sawn board and beams, with a surprisingly high level of accuracy - so long as the chain is kept sharp! Particular suitable for smaller projects and 'bespoke', characterful logs that are too good for firewood.
